Entitlement - You owe me!

So I am sitting here thinking about a story a co-worker shared with me. We will call this coworker Mr. Boom. It was a great story that talked about how taxes are paid in the U.S. and those people who dont pay any taxes still often feel entitled to tax benefits, or more specifically tax stimulus checks.

Not all people have this sense of entitlement, but some people do, and I wonder why their thought process changes to the "you owe me" mentality.

We have all seen these people, know them, or may even have friends that have this sense of entitlement. These people may or may not work, but one thing is true they feel like they are owed something from someone, or government, or their employer.

I don't think I was raised to be a very hard worker, but at some point in my life I was blessed enough to figure out the greatest gift that the United States offers. The ability to move from whatever situation your in to a better one. It may be hard, even nearly impossible for some, but always possible. This single dream is what sparks mass immigration into the United States, and makes this country worth living in.

Sadly, I see this dream being eroded. People seem to be moving from a "hand up" mentality to a "hand out" mentality.

If your reading this please leave a comment with your thoughts on this topic, I would love any one's opinions.

Thank You!

Now a short song to sing along with!

It's a Slow Fade

So for my first post I will be brief. As with many posts I believe I will use this for venting. The first item I would like to complain about is the U.S. Governments inept Economic plan / strategies / ideas. I say inept because I assume and pray the government is at least trying to keep us a free democracy. There are two quick things I would like to talk about.

1. If the government wants to keep the United States a free democracy they are doing a piss poor job at it. All you hear on the news, broadcasts, and even "research reports" is how free markets are "failing". This is hog-swallow! They say "free markets are failing". What they really mean is "The government artificially lowered interest rates to unprecedented levels to create the biggest housing bubble in history." This was not free markets to begin with that caused this. If it was no one would have been lending at 4-5% to buy a house, and people who cant afford it wouldn't have got it.

Also, these banks that lent all this money out without concern for their long term welfare. We are now rewarding them by bailing them out! Let them fail and I guarantee the banks that survive will watch out for this in the future.

2. My second rant! The government could be "GENIUSES". Yes this is going to be a conspiracy rant. So if you were someone that wanted to see the U.S. join with the EU, or perhaps create another "American Union" what could you do? You could make money so cheap that we create so much debt we can never get out of it. Next you let the government print so much money our dollar is worthless. After that you watch as other countries change from using the U.S. dollar as the trading currency. Lastly when the government is nearly bankrupt from this debt and the devaluing of currency you come out with a great plan. This plan is known as an Economic Union with other countries. Oh, but don't worry! This Union is only Economic, we will still be a United country, at least for a little bit. "Well, the American Citizen says, I guess your right. I do want more Economic Stability."

That's the first step!

Thanks for reading, and I lied about the length!
